Product Description
Newport's new 2530P Series Polarization Extinction Ratio (PER) Meter is designed specifically for both production and laboratory environments. With a PER dynamic range larger than 50 dB and an angular resolution of 0.06°, the instrument outperforms all other products in its class. One attractive option is a separate measuring head that can be detached from the main instrument enclosure and brought to close proximity of the device under test, such as a laser diode for example, during an assembly process. The instrument has 4 measurement speeds ranging from 0.1 to 1 second, with the high speed aiding in real-time alignment and the low speed for higher accuracy. The measurement data can also be stored and recalled with the press of a button for comparison purposes. In the Auto Mode, PER, axis angle, and optical power are automatically measured and viewable in the LCD window. In the Manual Mode, the user can rotate a polarizer inside using the arrow keys on the front panel to search for the maximum transmission. The instantaneous power and polarizer rotation angle are simultaneously displayed. The 2350P is ideal for polarization maintaining (PM) fiber pigtailing of laser diodes, PM fiber patch cord manufacturing, PM fiber connectorization, ...
