This OEM nitrogen laser incorporates technology developed in a series of contracts to supply a space hardened laser for the International Space Station.
The 337-Si OEM nitrogen laser emits pulses of 4 nsec in duration at 337 nm in the UV with a pulse energy of up to 300 mJ. Peak power is 75 kW and the average power is 3 mW at 10 Hz. The pulse repetition rate can be varied from less than one pulse per second up to 10 Hz. A 20 Hz version at 150 mJ is also available. Low EMI enables the 337-Si laser to operate side-by-side with computers and sensitive electronics. Precise timing requirements can be served with the opto sync port, a TTL signal drives from the long pulse itself. |
Beam Quality |
The output of the 337-Si OEM laser is near-diffraction limited producing a collimated beam. The excellent homogeneity of the beam is shown in the beam profile. This beam can be focused to better than a 3 mm spot producing very high peak power and an energy density of 4.5 kJ/cm2. |
Straight-Forward Operation |
The 337-Si OEM laser is air-cooled and incorporates our patented, sealed plasma cartridge. No hookups for flowing gas or coolant are required. No alignment is necessary as the laser resonator optics are factory aligned and secured to the plasma cartridge. Simply connect 24 volts and a trigger through the D-sub connector. |
Modular Design |
The laser plasma cartridge module is polymer encapsulated and includes the energy storage capacitors, the spark gap switching element, the plasma tube, the electrodes, the preionizers, and the resonator mirrors. In other words, this field replaceable unit incorporates all the laser components that are subject to deterioration with usage. Replace the cartridge; get the performance of a new laser at a fraction of the cost! |
Long Life |
The plasma cartridge is warranted to maintain at least 70% of its energy for twenty million pulses. |
* Due to our corporate policy of continuous improvement, specifications are subject to change without notice. The 337-Si OEM laser does not comply with the Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) regulations in regards to time delay, remote interlock and warning labels. Please note that this laser can only be sold for OEM use and equipment in which the laser is being used must, as a result, comply with CRDH regulations. |
