With its compact size, high reliability and rugged build, the Spectra-Physics BL IR laser series provides a lot of value for the pricemaking it an ideal tool for many different applications. In addition, the simple design enables reliable, hands-free operation in 24/7 environments.
Many industrial users take advantage of the small size by mounting the laser on a XY translation stage and moving the laser relative to the material to be processed. This provides an added level of flexibility for use in a variety of manufacturing processes. The air-cooled design eliminates the need for water-cooling, further improving the ease of integration and flexibility. A sturdy housing and proven optical mounting also enhance the reliability of the BL IR laser series.
The BL diode-pumped solid state laser is available in three models: the BL6, BL10 and BL20. All models offer very short pulse widths that deliver excellent beam quality and high intensity pulses over a wide range of repetition rates. The fiber-coupled, end-pumped technology enables a Gaussian beam profile that can be focused to very small spot sizes for precision processing of sub-micrometer features such as in memory repair.
The BL6 laser has the shortest pulse width of <8 ns at 35 kHz with >5 W average power, while the BL10 laser is a more cost-effective solution with <10 ns at 25 kHz and >3 W average power. For applications that require higher repetition rates, the BL20 laser with <25 ns at 100 kHz and >4 W average power is recommended. Short pulse widths and high repetition rates are enabling factors for marking of plastics at high speeds without any heat-affected zones.
A Graphical User Interface provides easy control through an RS-232 serial communication port. The J40 power supply analog port accepts analog and TTL signals for precisely timed gating and synchronized laser pulses.
The BL6 laser is also available with optional 2432 VDC operation instead of the standard 110230 VAC line voltage, enabling operation on mobile devices such as aircraft or motor vehicles used in rugged outdoor terrain. |
