The new Oriel® LED Light Sources answers the need for a versatile and economical source of narrow or broadband radiation for those applications where low power consumption and heat dissipation are critical . Available in wavelengths from 385 to 629 nm and white light, and output powers of 250 or 500 mW, they are low cost alternatives to diode lasers and lamp-based systems. We took a modular approach to the system, to address the changing needs of researchers. A system is made up of an LED head and a separate power supply/driver; the heads are interchangeable. Simply plug any head into the appropriate power level driver, and the driver automatically recognizes the LED and sets the appropriate parameters. You can control the system manually, or via a PC with the included software and USB interface. The free-space output of these LEDs is diverging. We offer a collimating lens holder for 1.0 inch diameter lenses, as well as an SMA and 11 mm fiber adapters to hold properly terminated fiber optics or liquid light guides. Microscope adapters will be available to couple the output to Zeiss, Nikon, or Olympus Microscopes. A stacking plate mounting kit allows the stacking of up to 3 power ...
