All Newport optical meters are calibrated in compliance with ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994 using NIST traceable measurement equipment, and comply with the specifications published in this catalog. All of Newport's newly introduced optical meters, the 1935-C Series, 1931-C Series, 1918-C, 1916-C and 842-PE, as well as our legacy power meters, ordered with the -CAL option, include a Certificate of Calibration, all calibration data (pre and post calibration), a list of all equipment used in performing the calibration and a calibration sticker, identifying the next date of calibration.
Newport optical meters should also be sent in periodically for recalibration. Recalibrations follow the same process as the calibration of new instruments, and include the same documentation (see above). This calibration is performed independent of the detector calibration service (see
Optical Detector Calibration Services). Newport recommends a re-calibration every 12 months.
