By placing this optically clear device into the path of a UV laser, beam characteristics such as laser mode structure, beam shape, and beam alignment can be observed because the optical glass will glow green when exposed to UV radiation. Unlike conventional beam viewers, Newport's UV beam viewer is suitable for high power applications, is cleanroom-compatible, and is transmissive. The UVU-2 housing provides threaded #8-32 and M4 holes to enable use as a "wand" or to be fixed on a bench using our standard posts.
